Citation Guidance

DOI links open the latest version of each work. Edition labels identify the version described here; earlier editions remain available through the repository's version history. Cite FERZ research by its concept DOI, the durable identifier for a work across all of its editions. When a citation depends on a particular edition, state that edition in the citation text; the reader can select it from the repository's version history.

Citation pattern

Author. (Year). Full title. Version X.Y. Publisher. Concept DOI. Italicize the title and link the concept DOI. If a work carries no version number, give its publication date instead. A general reference across all versions may omit the edition.

Concept DOI and version DOI

Every FERZ deposit has one concept DOI that resolves to the latest version and one version DOI for each edition. Both are persistent identifiers. FERZ pages and FERZ-authored citations use the concept DOI and name the edition in text. A repository export may supply the version DOI of the edition being viewed; that identifier is valid, and you may use it where your destination requires an edition-specific identifier. The two conventions differ in which identifier carries the edition, not in whether the edition is recorded.

Export options

Each FERZ deposit on Zenodo provides BibTeX, RIS, and CSL JSON exports through the record's Cite interface. Reference managers convert from any of these to the format your destination requires. Check which identifier the export carries before use, and substitute the concept DOI if your citation follows the convention above.

Authorship

Corpus works are cited with the creator or creators credited in the deposit record, whether individuals or organizations. Website pages are cited with FERZ, Inc. as author. Do not replace a work's actual credits with a default corporate or personal author.
